Fairtrade is about better prices, decent working conditions and fair terms of trade for farmers and workers, particularly those in the poorer parts of our world.
Fairtrade Fortnight was back from Monday 24th February to Sunday 8th March 2020. For two weeks each year thousands of individuals, companies and groups across the UK came together to share the stories of the people who grow our food and drinks and who grow the cotton in our clothes, people who are often exploited and underpaid. In 2020 the focus was to continue be to ensure that all farmers are paid fairly for their work and are able to earn a living income, starting with cocoa farmers in West Africa.
Locally for all of us this can focus on buying Fairtrade products when you do your next shop; or providing Fairtrade products for employees in your business, or alerting others to the importance of choosing Fairtrade products. Make use of media options Facebook, twitter, or just talking to people to highlight the importance of this campaign.
