Parish and town (local) councils in England and community and town (local) councils in Wales are the first tier of local government. There are around 10,000 local councils in England and Wales, made up of nearly 100,000 councillors.

Clarborough & Welham Parish Council now have their own website dealing with specific Parish Council matters here...

Clarborough, Welham and Hayton villages all have problems with speeding drivers. Community Speed Watch is an initiative between local volunteers and Nottinghamshire Police. The aim of the scheme is to improve road safety and driver behaviour to reduce death and serious injury on the roads within Nottinghamshire. Some parish councils already run schemes, we are asking for volunteers to run a Community Speed Watch scheme in our area. If you are interested please contact Phil Gibson (C&W PC Chairman) - see Councillors at top of this page.

Parish Council Meetings were virtual meetings, using Zoom, during the Covid-19 pandemic but resumed face-to-face from June 2021. For full details see our Meeting dates & Agenda page which includes meeting dates through to January 2025.

Clarborough & Welham Parish Council were successful in bidding to Rural England Prosperity Fund for some £14,500 to provide an all-weather footpath across the Parish Pasture linking both sides of Broad Gores. This was completed in late February, 2024. Read Parish Council’s report here...

Our Parish Council makes every effort to be transparent in its functions. Agendas and Minutes of meetings have been published on this site for many years as you will see by exploring the linked pages above and to the left.

At all other times, please use contact details shown on our Parish Councillors page.

Although the Parish Council initiated development of this website, this is not a Parish Council site although it does act as a publishing medium for Clarborough & Welham Parish Council. To that end it is intended that Minutes of Parish Council Meetings, Notices of Parish Council and other public meetings as well as other documents of a community interest nature will appear on this site.
A small contribution from our Parish Council was provided to launch this site in November 2010 but the site is now funded entirely by Clarborough & Welham IT Group.

The relationship between Parish Council and website is similar to that which it has with the publishers of the quarterly Clarborough & Welham Newsletter, recent copies of which may be viewed in pdf format on the Newsletter page of this site.

Contact details for current members of the Parish Council are provided in Parish Council Parish Councillors. Parish Council Committees are shown on the same page.
