Illuminate Pilgrims Festival 2017 – Art Exhibition

Members of Sutton Art Group recently dressed up in period clothing from the 17th century as an inspiration for their work. The paintings mostly provided an obvious link to the history of the Mayflower Pilgrims, with some requiring the observer to also use their imagination to fully interpret them.

They exhibited their paintings at All Saints’ Parish Church in Babworth in November 2017 as part of the Pilgrims Art Exhibition, which took place at Babworth and Worksop Priory.

Babworth’s Parish church of All Saints hosted a ‘Snowdrops’ weekend on 11th & 12th February, 2017 which focused on Separatists and Mayflower Pilgrims. Rev.Richard Clifton was Rector of Babworth from 1586 to 1605. Read more here...
