Bassetlaw Museum made a WWII ‘virtual’ exhibition on Facebook, a snippet per day, running from 27th April up to 8th May concentrating on the Home Front, using our collections and emphasising that World War II was a ‘total’ war where ever man, woman and child was told to, “Do your bit!”. We expect that when the museum re-open we will put the full exhibition up so everybody can see it
Located on Grove Street, Retford - just a short walk from the Market Square, the Museum is housed in recently restored Amcott House. This building is well worth a visit in its own right, but the museum also houses a fascinating collection ranging from Roman and Viking to modern times. The museum also has an art gallery with regularly changing exhibitions of works by local artists.
The Museum also host a wide range of activities for young and old alike.
